About me

Jodie O'Malley, LICSW

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Massachusetts, with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College. In addition to my clinical work, I’m also a Certified Coach, offering coaching services to clients around the world.

Since 2003, I’ve been employed at McLean Hospital and maintain a private practice in Belmont, MA. I also provide accessible telehealth sessions via Zoom for individuals and families across various locations.

My work focuses on helping adults manage mood disorders, substance use, and personality disorders. I also support couples and families in improving communication, resolving conflict, and building stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

My approach to therapy is interactive, holistic, and rooted in both professional training and real-life understanding. I integrate a variety of evidence-based and relational therapies, including:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Radical Openness DBT (RO-DBT)

  • Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

I work collaboratively with clients to identify their values and goals, tailoring interventions that draw on their strengths and innate resilience. Central to my practice is a focus on mindfulness, emotional insight, and building practical coping skills that support long-term growth and well-being.

My Values

Diversity

I empower individuals by respecting and valuing differences in age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, education, and thought. My commitment to Diversity ensures every voice is heard and every perspective is valued, fostering an inclusive environment that supports understanding and well-being.

Excellence

I value Excellence by striving to do more and improve outcomes for my clients. I am committed to delivering the best service possible by providing practical, effective, life-changing DBT, ACT and RO-DBT programs and continually learning, growing, and evolving.

Experience

Lived Experiences offer valuable insight into effective therapeutic interventions. With empathy, compassion, and dignity, I use my experiences and common sense to guide how I interact with and treat individuals and their families.
